Margo Price, The Lacs announced for spring shows at del Lago

del Lago Resort & Casino announced two upcoming shows where rising acts will take the stage at The Vine.

Rising country star Margo Price and country/southern rock meets southern rap stars, The Lacs will be performing in March and April, according to reps for the resort.

Margo Price will be performing on April 20 and The Lacs will take the stage on May 31. Tickets to both shows will go on sale at noon on Friday, February 2nd.

Price is making her way to the big time as one of country music’s most celebrated new artists. A prolific writer with a knack for candid self-reflection, Price has never had to look too far for inspiration. On “All American Made,” she and her songwriting partner/husband, Jeremy Ivey, continue to depict the trials of everyday life with unflinching honesty, painting poetically plainspoken portraits of men and women just trying to get by.

Throughout the album, her contemporary take on classic sounds is at once familiar and daring, an infectious blend of Nashville country, Memphis soul, and Texas twang that tips its cap to everyone from Waylon and Willie (who makes a guest appearance) to Loretta and Dolly, all while disregarding the cookie-cutter pop that dominates modern country radio. Rich with swirling pedal steel, honky-tonk rhythms, and Price’s stop-you-in-your-tracks vocals, “All American Made” is deeply reverent of tradition even as it challenges conventions, a nuanced exploration of conflicted emotions for our deeply conflicted times.

On “American Rebelution,” their most recent and aptly titled sixth album, hip-hop/country/southern rock musicians, The Lacs take all that they’ve witnessed, roll it up in a unique sound they call “dirt rock” and lay down the truth as they see it. Their album was recorded on Backroad Records, a subsidiary of Average Joe’s Entertainment, an independent label co-owned by fellow country rap artist Colt Ford. Much of what they’ve learned courses throughout “American Rebelution.” The soul of The Lacs is right where it’s always been, front and center in their music, infused by pride in their country, love for their family, an inclination toward rowdy celebration and an unexpected tenderness when it comes to the ladies in their lives.
