Finger Lakes GOP county chairs endorse Brian Kolb for governor

On the day state Sen. John DeFrancisco is scheduled to launch his gubernatorial campaign, Assembly Minority Leader Brian Kolb announced he has been endorsed by nine Republican county chairs from the Finger Lakes region.

The chairs supporting Kolb, R-Canandaigua, include former state Assemblyman Bill Reilich, who leads the Monroe County Republican Committee and is first vice-chairman of the state GOP. Trisha Turner, regional vice-chair of the state GOP and head of the Ontario County Republican Committee, also backed Kolb's candidacy.

Assemblyman Bob Oaks, as chair of the Wayne County Republican Committee, endorsed his colleague for governor.

The other chairs supporting Kolb are: Dwight Healy (Allegany), Lowell Conrad (Livingston), Lester Cady (Schuyler), Thomas Fox (Seneca), Joe Sempolinski (Steuben) and Sandy King (Yates).

Kolb, whose district covers all of Ontario County and a portion of Seneca County, has represented parts of the Finger Lakes region in the Assembly since 2000.
