Sheriff: Williamson man accused of raping, abusing girl under 11

Wayne County Sheriff Barry Virts says a 33-year-old Williamson man faces rape, sex abuse, and forcible touching charges after an investigation was launched by Wayne County Child Protective Services.

Roy D. Beland, 33, was charged with first-degree rape, first-degree sex abuse, forcible touching and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child.

According to Virts, Beland is accused of having sex with a child less than 11-years-old. He is further accused of masturbating in front of the child on multiple occasions and forcing the child to touch his genitals.

An order of protection was issued on behalf of the victim.

Beland was arraigned in Williamson Town Court and remanded to the Wayne County Jail in lieu of $20,000 cash bail or $40,000 secured bond.
