Deputies: Newark woman stole jerky after being denied alcohol at gas station

Deputies say a 29-year-old Newark woman was arrested after a shoplifting incident at a gas station in Lyons.

Abbie M. Snyder, of Newark was charged with petit larceny after she entered the gas station with her boyfriend around 12:10 a.m. on Wednesday. Both were denied the purchase of alcohol, and as result Snyder grabbed a bag of beef jerky and walked out of the store.

The duo drove across the street to another gas station where deputies located them, and arrested Snyder.

The charges will be answered at a later date.
