James Henry Trotter has lost his parents in an accident involving a rhinoceros escaped from a London zoo.
James is the main character in the musical version of Roald Dahl’s children’s book, “James and the Giant Peach,” being staged this weekend at Naples High School.
In the play, James is told he will have to live with his horrible aunts Spiker and Sponge, who make him work and cut down the old peach tree in the yard.
James, played by Emma D’aurizio, discovers a book of magic potions and accidentally spills some potion from which a tremendous peach tree grows.
The aunts, played by Rose Byington and Felicity Hutchinson, respectively, want to make money off the peach tree. James goes into the giant peach where he meets an interesting cast of human-sized insects, some of whom want to eat him. His adventures begin with new bug friends.
