James is bringing his “Giant Peach” to Victor

Orphaned James Trotter, whose parents were eaten by a rhinoceros at a London zoo, finds himself in the hands of two wretched and abusive aunts.

He is able to escape their clutches, however, when he accidentally spills some magic potion on the stump of a peach tree they ordered him to chop down, and crawls into the resulting giant peach that sets him on an adventure with new friends and enemies in the world of “James and the Giant Peach,” being staged this weekend at Victor schools.

The musical, based on books by Timothy McDonald and one of the same name by Roald Dahl, has words and music written by Benj Pasek and Justin Paul, the creative team behind “La La Land” and “Dear Evan Hansen.”
