Penn Yan Library budget vote set

A public hearing on the 2018-2019 budget for the Penn Yan Public Library will be held at 6:30 p.m. April 3 at the library. There will be a special meeting of the voters of the Penn Yan Central School District to consider a proposition to adopt the upcoming budget Tuesday, April 10. Voting will be held at the library from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. The proposition authorizes the library board of trustees to expend the sum of $687,089, which was set in the budget for 2018-19.

Kristen Flynn-Comstock and Martha Roberts are running for two open trustee seats on the Penn Yan Public Library Board of Trustees.

Kristen Flynn-Comstock has served on the Penn Yan Public Library Board of Trustees since 2005 and has been involved with the renovations of the Carnegie Building, the 1982 addition, and most recently the grounds. She lives in Penn Yan’s Historic District with her husband, three children and several rescued pets. She and her family are avid library users.

Kristen loves living in the Penn Yan community, especially dining at local restaurants, shopping at the Penn Yan Farmer’s Market and visiting local festivals. She is an educator and advocate for literacy and inclusion. Kristen sees Penn Yan Public Library as a tremendous resource for our community and supports its mission.
