An Auburn contractor had his felony charges reduced after paying approximately $18,000 in restitution in an insurance fraud case, the Onondaga County District Attorney's Office said this week.
Frank L. Gaglianese, owner of Gaglianese Underground LLC, was arrested last April in Cayuga County and originally charged with two counts of third-degree insurance fraud, two counts of third-degree grand larceny and two counts of first-degree falsifying business records, all felonies. He was also charged with third-degree falsely reporting an incident, a misdemeanor.
At the time, Gaglianese's attorney, Rome Canzano, said the charges stemmed from claims made in 2016. Now, he said many of those charges were eventually reduced and have since been dismissed.
According to Canzano, in November, the felonies pending against Gaglianese were amended to misdemeanors and dismissed in the Town of Sennett Court. Meanwhile, two pending misdemeanors were amended to violations of disorderly conduct.
