Driver crashes into front of Rt. 96 restaurant in Ontario County

Deputies say that on Friday around 4:13 p.m. they responded alongside Farmington Fire and Victor Ambulance to 6081 State Route 96 for a car into a building.

Diane Berube, 69, of Farmington struck the front of the building as she was attempting to pull into a parking space. The crash caused extensive damage to the front wall and window of the restaurant.

She was not injured and there were no customers inside the restaurant at the time of the accident.

The cause of the crash was determined to be human error, according to deputies. The vehicle was towed from the scene and Code Enforcement officials were called to the scene to evaluate the condition of the building.
