Deputies: Sodus man charged with DWI, almost hit patrol car

The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of a Sodus man on DWI charges after nearly striking a deputy’s vehicle that was traveling the opposite direction on Lake Road.

The incident happened around 7:30 pm in the Village of Sodus; and resulted in the arrest of Glenn H. LeClaire, 63, who lives on Lake Road.

LeClaire was charged with DWI, driving with a BAC of .08 percent or higher – later determined to be .11 percent; failure to keep right, and failure to submit to a breath test.

Deputies say LeClaire crossed the center line on Lake Road and nearly struck the deputy’s vehicle, which was traveling eastbound.

The charges will be answered in Sodus Town Court at a later date.
