Victims of Canandaigua hit-and-run want answers

A Canandaigua mother and son are demanding to know why a hit-and-run driver deliberately rammed into them with his car.

Michelle and Cory Martino say they were bicycling on Brickhouse Road Saturday when a car passed them, stopped, backed up straight at them and knocked Cory over, then took off.

State troopers have released pictures and video of the suspected vehicle.

They’re looking for a gray four-door sedan possibly an older model Pontiac with a yellow sticker on it.

The Martino’s say what happened remains a scary mystery.

“He backed up towards us and I’m like ‘oh my what is he doing?’ and I realized in a split second that he was aiming towards us and, next thing I know, my sons flying off his bike,” explained Michelle Martino. “He hit the ground so hard he cracked his helmet.”

Cory Martino said, “It was a very deliberate act. Him slamming on his brakes hard enough that they squealed and flooring it again it backwards at us, not stopping before you hit me… is why I am thinking it’s a road rage.”

Cory Martino was taken to the hospital with minor injuries and now he says he’s just sore.
