Summer is bringing an increase in admissions to Cayuga Community College.
College president Brian Durant said after a board of trustees meeting Thursday night that while the college’s 2017-2018 budget was built on a flat enrollment rate of 2,550 full-time equivalents, the college is on track to have realized over 2,600 full-time equivalents this year.
While the college has been on pace to be up, Durant said, strong summer enrollment thus far will put the institution over their expectations and to possibly “have our first year of growth from one year to another in several years.”
“Any time that we know more students are choosing us to take advantage of what we’re offering to them, it feels great,” Durant said. He credited the college’s marketing work, the admissions and enrollment team and faculty and staff for the potential uptick.
