The Canandaigua Academy Class of 2018 is the first class of students born in the new millenium, CA Board of Education President Jeanie Grimm pointed out at Sunday’s commencement. But of greater significance — the accomplishments of this class of 278 graduates who received diplomas at the 11 a.m. ceremony at Constellation Brands-Marvin Sands Performing Arts Center.
Referring to numerous philanthropic projects, Grimm said it showed a class driven by caring and kindness. “You know that love is not a feeling but rather an action,” Grimm said. “The world needs you,” she added. “Your love, your kindness, your intelligence.”
