Students at Hobart and William Smith Colleges have a better shot at being successfully employed post-graduation than those at any other college in the state.
According to a recent study by Zippia, a California-based career search and employment services company, the colleges in Geneva are the top institution in New York and fifth in the nation when it comes to its graduates finding employment.
Zippia considered job placement ratings in each state and determined that with 95.45 percent of students in careers, Hobart and William Smith ranks among the “best of the best” in setting students up for success after graduation.
The only higher education institutions ranked above HWS nationally (www.zippia.com) are Lebanon Valley College in Pennsylvania; Salve Regina University in Rhode Island; and Ohio Northern University in Ohio.
Using the Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System, Zippia searched for the college in each state with the highest listed job placement ratings, looking specifically at employment levels at year 10 after students have graduated.
Then, it looked at the ratings themselves and ranked each state’s top school according to its rating. For the purposes of readability, the top schools’ ratings were then rounded down to the last three decimal places, and included the city in which the top 10 colleges are located.
