A 14-year-old boy and 13-year-old girl have been charged with multiple felonies following a police pursuit in the village of Elbridge, police said.
According to New York State Police, at around 2 a.m. Saturday, troopers responded to the area of Brown Street in an attempt to locate a stolen vehicle. That vehicle was then spotted on State Route 5, and police said troopers tried to pull it over.
While the vehicle started to comply, police said it suddenly sped up and the teen driver led troopers on a brief pursuit in the village. Police followed the car for approximately three miles before OnStar successfully disabled the vehicle.
Trooper Jack Keller said the vehicle was operated by a 14-year-old Syracuse boy who refused to get out of the car. He said a trooper suffered minor injuries while forcibly extricating the teen from the vehicle, where he continued to resist arrest.
