Former Syracuse guard Tyler Ennis released by Los Angeles Lakers

Former Syracuse point guard Tyler Ennis was waived by the Los Angeles Lakers on Thursday night, the team announced on its website.

Ennis’ contract with the Lakers for 2018-19 was not guaranteed, according to the contract website SpoTrac. It would have become guaranteed if he was on the roster on July 5.

Ennis made $1.5 million this year and was slated to make $1.7 million next year. Instead, he will look for an opportunity as a free agent.
