Adilyn Strong was at the Locke Firefighters’ Field Days Saturday with an evergreen smile, a jump in her step and a mission.
Adilyn’s father, Justin Strong, said he and his 3-year-old were planning to hit every ride at the event. Justin, with a hint of fatigue in his voice, said they had tried six out of the 11 attractions at that point.
Did he think they’d last through each ride?
“She might make it. I’m not so sure about me,” Justin said with a smile. “I’m trying to keep up.”
Scurrying children and adults alike could be seen at the Locke Fire Department’s fundraising event, held annually on the department’s grounds. The event, which featured vendors and musical acts, began Wednesday afternoon.
