The Lowe’s store on Sessler Drive was cleared Wednesday morning following a bomb threat, Seneca County Sheriff Tim Luce said.
The store was evacuated around 9:30 a.m. when a worker found the word “bomb” written on a box in a storage area, Luce said.
“We evacuated the building as soon as we got here,” he said.
The sheriff’s office sent its K-9 unit in and found nothing, according to Luce.
Store employees were allowed back in a little after 11 a.m., and customers reentered later.
“They lost some business this morning,” said Luce, pointing to a large number of customers who were turned away from sheriff’s deputies blocking entrances to the store’s parking lot.
At one point, Sessler Drive itself was blocked off by deputies.
