North Carolina woman hospitalized after Phelps accident

One person was sent to Strong Memorial Hospital after an accident in the Village of Phelps on Tuesday.

Deputies say they responded to the accident on State Route 88 at Mary Street around 3:17 pm.

They say Patrick J. Meghan, 49, of Geneva was traveling south on State Route 88 when Jeanne Dewilde, 51, of Clifton Springs was parked on the west side of State Route 88 across from Mary Street. A third vehicle operated by Terri L. Corsner, 36, of North Carolina failed to stop and collided with the side of McGhan’s vehicle and the rear of Dewilde’s vehicle.

As result of the collision Corsner complained of head and facial pain at the scene and was transported to Strong Memorial Hospital via Phelps Ambulance for treatment.

Corsner was also issued a traffic ticket as result of the accident for following too closely, and will appear in Phelps Town Court at a later date.

Deputies say that Phelps Fire Department assisted at the scene.
