The Ontario County Traffic Safety Board will hold its Summer OPEN HOUSE on Wednesday, August 8th, 2018 from 10AM – 12PM at the Ontario County Safety Training Facility located at 2914 County Road 48, Canandaigua, NY 14424.
Numerous traffic safety initiatives and programs from Ontario County and throughout the state will be featured including the NYSP seatbelt “convincer”, Seneca County Sheriff’s Traffic Safety Simulator, the Amy Stock Memorial, “One Second Changes Everything” distracted/texting display including CELLslips to the first 35 arrivals and a simulated DWI stop featuring Vision goggles. There will also be a Child Safety Passenger seat check during the event hosted by the Canandaigua Police Department.
Several display tables will be on hand including the Ontario County Safety Council, the Substance Abuse Prevention Coalition for Ontario County, Regional Transit Service (RTS), Department of Motor Vehicles, Victim Advocate Sarah Palermo, Smart Start, The Governor’s Traffic Safety Committee and many more!
The public is invited to this event that will take place from 10AM—12PM. NYS Senator Pam Helming will make opening remarks and will recognize Sheriff Phil Povero for his years of dedication to the Traffic Safety Board and Ontario County’s streets and highways. Plan on attending and learning about the various programs that the Traffic Safety Board has to offer our schools, safety programs and the public on topics such as texting and distracted driving, impaired driving, pedestrian safety, child passenger safety seats, school based programs and much more!
