Woman charged with DWI in Canandaigua after accident, later assaults nurse at hospital

Deputies say a Buffalo woman was charged with DWI after a property damage accident on County Road 16 in Canandaigua.

Mariassa Michaels-Connors, 25, was charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated, driving while intoxicated, and failure to keep right following a minor, one-car accident on Tuesday.

Deputies say she was found to be operating her vehicle in an intoxicated condition after the wreck and submitted to a breath test. Based on her level of intoxicated, she was transported to F.F. Thompson Hospital.

While being treated at the hospital, deputies say she caused physical injury to an emergency department nurse – resulting in an additional charge of third-degree assault.

She will answer all of the charges at a later date.
