State Sen. Pam Helming’s six-figure war chest is considerably larger than Democratic challenger Kenan Baldridge’s negative balance.
Helming, R-Canandaigua, raised $57,928 over the past six months and has $129,764 in the bank. She is seeking a second term representing the 54th Senate District, which includes 13 towns and a portion of Auburn in Cayuga County.
Helming’s campaign reported receiving $1,850 from four individual donors. Most of the Republican senator’s funds came from political action committees. Her notable contributors included Friends of Del Lago PAC, which gave $2,500. The PAC is the political arm of del Lago Resort & Casino, a gaming facility in the 54th district.
The campaign also received $1,000 from the New York State Correctional Officers and Police Benevolent Association, a union representing corrections officers at state prisons.
