Eat, Drink and Be Murphy: Cool off with new ‘Cinn-fully Delicious’ ice cream

The cinnamon rolls at the Cheshire Farms Creamery are popular enough.

So, it’s no sin to try and build on a good thing by creating a cinnamon roll ice cream, especially because the flavor is unique to the Canandaigua creamery and just may be a flavor that no else is doing elsewhere.

And so after a little experimenting and tweaking, Lisa Kuras and Patty Casella, partners in the Cheshire Farms Creamery, gave it a go.

“We both went, ‘Hmmm,’” Casella said.

And others are echoing the sentiment, or should we say, “cinn-timent.”

The Creamery partnered with the Finger Lakes Visitors Connection on the new flavor for July — National Ice Cream Month. And National Ice Cream Day, which is celebrated on the third Sunday of the month, was the deadline for a contest to name the new flavor.

In all, 158 patrons submitted names, which was narrowed to a final four, according to Christen Smith, director of marketing and communications at the Visitors Connection.

“Cinn-fully Delicious” beat out “Buns of Cin,” “Cin-ful Doughlite” and “Cinnandaigua: The Chosen Treat” for the honor.
