Camillus man out on bail for fatal hit-and-run is charged again

A Camillus man charged with reckless driving Sunday morning was also charged in February for leaving the seen of a fatal accident, the Onondaga County Sheriff's Office reported.

Around 2 a.m. deputies patrolling the area of Electronics Parkway near 7th North Street observed a 1983 Chevrolet Malibu performing a "burnout," the spinning of the car's wheels while keeping the vehicle stationary, a press release said. When deputies conducted a traffic stop, the driver was identified as Anthony J. Saccone, 31, of Gulf Road, Camillus.

Saccone was currently out on bail from a pending criminal case involving a fatal alcohol related crash in February, the sheriff's office reported. Deputies then discovered that Saccone had also been consuming alcohol while operating the vehicle Sunday morning.
