Motorcyclist charged with DWI after accident on Rt. 414

First responders say a motorcyclist is recovering from injuries sustained in a crash in Lodi over the weekend.

The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office reports that on Saturday at 6:06 pm deputies arrested Kirk R. Durkin, 59, of Alden after a motorcycle accident on State Route 414 in Lodi.

Deputies responded to Rt 414 just south of the Village of Lodi for a report of a motorcycle accident with injuries. They report that the motorcycle drifted off the road and struck a sign post.

Upon arrival Deputies found that Durkin was intoxicated and was injured from the crash. Investigation determined resulted in him being charged with Driving while intoxicated and Crossing Hazard Markings.

Durkin was transported to Strong Memorial hospital by South Seneca Ambulance to be treated for arm and shoulder pain.

Deputies released Durkin with appearance tickets and he is to answer the charges in the Town of Lodi Court at a later date.

South Seneca Ambulance and Lodi Fire Department assisted at the scene.
