Can’t get enough of sauerkraut in Phelps

There is still time Saturday to enjoy the Phelps Sauerkraut Festival, where, as the theme says, “Home is Where the Kraut Is.”

Winners of the giant parade, which was scheduled to begin earlier this afternoon, will be announced at 6:30 p.m. Saturday. The sauerkraut cake cutting is scheduled for 7 p.m. on the festival grounds, followed by a performance of the Skycoasters.

Fireworks by Young Explosives are set for 10 tonight.

On Sunday, worship in Methodist Park starts at 10:15 a.m. Arts and crafts for the kids and a kraut scavenger hunt are planned from 10:30 a.m. to noon in Redfield Park.

A host of activities, including kiddie parade at noon in Redfield Park, round out the morning and early afternoon activities.

Campbell & Son will perform from 1 to 4 p.m. on the festival grounds. A Phelps Community Center dance program is scheduled for 2 p.m.
