Officials in Schuyler County say a Boil Water Advisory has been activated for the next several days following intense flooding, which happened on Tuesday.
The following message was relayed to the public on Thursday:
“Please be advised; there is a Boil Water Advisory for the Village of Watkins Glen, Dix & Reading Water Districts.
Bring tap water to a rolling boil, boil for one minute, and cool before using. Or use bottled water certified for sale by the New York State Department of Health. Boiled or bottled water should be used for drinking, making ice, washing dishes, brushing teeth, and preparing food until further notice.
It is likely that you will need to boil water for the next 5 days.”
