Deputies return to Sodus farm where mother, toddler vanished

Deputies have returned to the Sodus farm where an 18-year-old mother and her 14-month-old son went missing back in May.

Selena Hidalgo-Calderon was found dead, her body in a bag buried at the farm on Joy Road on May 16. Her son, Owen Hidalgo-Calderon, remains missing.

Sheriff Barry Virts says the investigation is ongoing, giving no indication as to why deputies and the underwater recovery unit are at the farm.

Alberto Reyes is charged with tampering with evidence after deputies say he admitted to hiding Selena’s body, but claims he did not kill her. Investigators say Reyes is in the country illegally and has been deported back to Mexico twice before.
