Authorities say the man who fell into the Cayuga Inlet and was rescued by police has died.
That information was confirmed on Thursday, nearly a week after the response near the 100 block of South Fulton Street.
Crews arrived and were able to retrieve a man from the water and bring him to shore. He was not conscious or breathing at the time. Bangs Ambulance transported the man to Titus Flats where he was airlifted to a regional trauma center, according to police.
That man was identified on Thursday as 49-year-old James Terry Jr. He died from his injuries at the hospital.
A death investigation and autopsy did not reveal anything suspicious, according to the Ithaca Voice.
