Greased pole climb draws crowd to 72nd Jordan Fall Festival

While the biggest draw to the Jordan Fall Festival on Sunday may be to watch people climb up — or slip down — a greased pole, thousands of people converged at the festival grounds to take in all the festival had to offer on Sunday.

The greased pole climb is the biggest event of the three-day festival, said Alicia Persaud, the festival's chairperson. One woman had already staked out her spot on a hay bale to watch the climb, scheduled for 1 p.m., as early as 10 a.m., Persaud added.
