Deputies: 78-year-old charged with assault, contempt after Ontario incident

Deputies say a 78-year-old Rochester man was arrested on multiple charges after an incident on September 10th.

An investigation was launched after the incident earlier this month, which resulted in a warrant being issued by Judge Benedict in Ontario Town Court for the arrest of Clifton Moody Sr., 78, of Rochester.

He was charged with criminal contempt, assault, criminal mischief, and endangering the welfare of a child.

It is alleged that Clifton assaulted and injured a female, violating an order of protection. The incident took place while there were children in the residence, which resulted in the welfare charge.

Deputies say Moody turned himself in to police at the Wayne County Jail.

The charges will be answered at a later date.
