Local leaders and Pittsford native Chris Lillis, member of the U.S. Ski & Snowboard Freestyle Team, were among those who gathered Monday to celebrate the newest addition to Bristol Mountain — a world class freestyle style aerial jump site.
“With the development of this new training site, the U.S. Ski & Snowboard Freestyle Aerial Team and international aerial team athletes will be able to train at Bristol Mountain prior to the start of their competition season,” stated Bristol Mountain Vice President Steven Fuller in a release announcing the ribbon cutting. The athletes will also be able to train at the new site for several week before the Freestyle Aerial World Cup event that takes place in Lake Placid in January, Fuller added.
