A single course asphalt overlay paving project on State Route 54 from G. Fullagar Road to the Steuben County line in the Towns of Milo and Barrington, Yates County, will begin Wednesday, Oct. 10. The paving project is anticipated to last approximately one week.
Traffic will be maintained with a one lane, two-way alternating flagging operation. The public should expect delays.
Motorists are reminded to drive carefully through highway and bridge construction zones.
This year’s work zone safety campaign, “Flaggers have families too,” is designed to remind motorists that flagging personnel are not attempting to disrupt traffic – they are simply doing their jobs and want to get home safely at the end of each work day.
Fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone. In accordance with the Work Zone Safety Act of 2005, convictions of two or more speeding violations in a work zone could result in the suspension of an individual’s driver license.
