Deputies: Five were in U.S. illegally when truck crashed on SR 89

Deputies say five individuals who were inside a vehicle when it crashed on October 8th along State Route 89 were turned over to U.S. Border Patrol after investigation.

Around 1:20 am deputies responded to the one-car accident in Romulus. Upon arrival, they found a truck, which had crashed into a ditch.

A total of five people were inside the vehicle when it crashed. However, none of them were injured.

Upon investigation it was determined that they gave law enforcement fraudulent identification and immigration documents.

They were found to be living in the U.S. illegally, according to deputies.

Deputies say they were turned over to Border Patrol for further action.
