The Cayuga Women’s Business Trust announced it is moving its lending program to Generations Bank.
The trust facilitates loans to women in business who reside and work in Cayuga County, which can be used to start or grow businesses with job creation potential. According to a press release, the trust is modeled after revolving funds that operate in Asia and Africa where groups of women support each other, one at a time, to start a business, grow it and then pay back the loan so other women in the group can borrow the money and start their own business.
“Generations Bank is the perfect bank partner for the Cayuga Women’s Trust,” trustee Cynthia Aikman said in a statement. “They have a long history of backing causes that advance women’s concerns, including support for The National Women’s Hall of Fame, and the annual Right to Run.”
