Three Brothers set to close restaurant in Geneva

The first restaurant venture for Three Brothers Wineries and Estates is coming to a close.

The H.J. Stead Co., a casual restaurant on the block-long Linden Street in Geneva, will serve its last meals on Oct 31. It opened at 34 Linden St. August 2017, and features an international approach to street food.

As visitors to the winery at 623 Lerch Road in Geneva have experienced, owners Dave and Louanne Mansfield, along with partner Erica Paolicelli, are keen on historical themes. The War Horse Brewing Co., in the winery’s theme park-like complex, has a World War II motif, and the Bagg Dare Wine Co. looks like it is straight out of the bayou, replete with rusting gas pumps and vehicles. H.J. Stead continued that approach; it was named for one of its predecessors in the building, an optical manufacturer that held patents for bifocal lenses

Closing the restaurant was a difficult decision, Paolicelli said. “Our core business is growing at a rapid speed and it requires all of our attention,” she said.
