The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office says on November 1st around 3 p.m. deputies arrested two juveniles after receiving a report of a stolen vehicle.
The subsequent investigation determined that two children, ages 12- and 13-years-old took a vehicle from the Hillside Center in Varick on October 31st.
They were able to leave the area, and the Sheriff’s Office reports that the vehicle was spotted a short time later in Border City.
A few hours later on November 1st, the juveniles were located on the New York State Thruway near Exit 29. They crashed the vehicle and both were transported to St. Marys Hospital in Canajoharie, where they were treated and released.
Both were returned to Seneca County where they will answer the charges in family court at a later date.
The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by Waterloo Village Police and New York State Troopers.
