Ex-physician who worked in Clyde says he’s changed; now awaits sentencing in child porn case

David Blasczak, the former Wayne County physician who admitted to watching child pornography and fondling the young friends of his daughter, says he is a “changed person” who is purging the “demons” that were the seeds of his crimes.

Blasczak, 70, is scheduled to be sentenced in U.S. District Court on Nov. 29.

“Firstly, please believe that I am a changed person,” Blasczak wrote in a letter to U.S. District Judge Charles Siragusa, who will sentence him. “My conversion is lasting and genuine.

“… God has already helped me purge much of those demons from me. I am fully committed not only to follow man’s law from now on — but more importantly I also intend to follow God’s path to righteousness.”

In the letter, Blasczak said that he has been receiving counseling and attending Bible ministry while in jail.

Blasczak pleaded guilty in August to three counts of receipt of child pornography. He admitted that he received more than 8,000 images — some in videos — of the sexual abuse and molestation of children. Some of the pornography included infants and toddlers as victims.

He also admitted that in the 1990s he fondled young girls who were sleeping over at his home with his daughter.
