Deputies: Driver airlifted from violent Bloomfield wreck with serious injuries

Deputies say a Rochester man was ticketed after a rollover accident in East Blooomfield on Wheeler Station Road on Sunday.

The accident happened around 4:06 p.m. when Philip C. Incardona, 67, was airlifted to Strong Memorial Hospital due to the extent of his injuries.

Deputies say Incardona’s vehicle drifted across the roadway, traveled into a ditch, made impact with a culvert — then overturned.

The vehicle came to rest on its side, resulting in a lengthy extrication process. First responders said it took upwards of 30 minutes to remove Incardona from the vehicle, which landed on its side.

Emergency crews removed the roof from the vehicle, and was promptly airlifted to Strong Memorial Hospital. Deputies say he had two fractured vertebrae and a fractured left shoulder.

He was also reportedly unable to move his extremities after the wreck.

He was cited for failing to keep right and will answer the charge in East Bloomfield Town Court.
