Cuomo’s agenda: The items he wants to change in 2019

Gov. Andrew Cuomo laid out his agenda for the first 100 days of 2019 during a wide-ranging speech Monday in Manhattan, where he vowed to set New York on a progressive course that he says would make President Franklin D. Roosevelt proud.

Cuomo, a Democrat, laid out dozens of measures he says he will push at the start of his third term, which begins Jan. 1 and will feature a fully Democrat-controlled Legislature for the first time in his tenure.

He called it his “Justice Agenda” and likened it to a Declaration of Independence for New York.

“We declare independence from this federal government’s policies,” Cuomo said.

“We disconnect from the nationalism and the racism and the chaos and the xenophobia and the misogyny and the discrimination and the dissembling of this Washington administration.”
