Auburn man brandished baseball bat after car accident, now facing felony charges

Police say an Auburn man was arrested on felony charges, which stemmed from a car accident on December 17th on Lake Avenue.

Sam P. Mallory, 40, of Auburn was charged Thursday with third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, a class D felony, and second-degree menacing, a class A misdemeanor.

Police say that on December 17th around 1:38 p.m. Mallory was involved in a car accident on Lake Avenue. Another vehicle was involved, but no injuries were reported.

After the accident Mallory got into an argument with the driver of the other vehicle. At that point, police say he brandished an aluminum bat.

While he did not attack, a bystander called in the incident. A warrant was ultimately issued for his arrest on December 24th.

The charges will be answered at a later date.
