Community members in Palmyra worked all day – to make sure Friday was a night to shine.
The “Night to Shine” event is held around the world, and provides kids with special needs with a prom-like event.
Cross Creek Church in Palmyra is one of the locations taking part. A tent had been put up for the event.
Overnight Thursday, high winds rolled in – destroying the tent. But it would take more than weather to tear down organizers’ spirits.
Members of the community worked together Friday to build a new structure – made of wood – to replace the tent.
“Our church is one big family,” said volunteer and church member Jim Wadsworth. “If someone needs something, we all go out of our way to make sure it happens.”
