Deputies: Intoxicated driver struck utility pole in Victor

Authorities say an intoxicated driver is facing multiple charges after colliding with a utility pole.

Deputies say that on Saturday around 1:40 a.m. Jacob L. Whiting, 22, of Victor was arrested for driving while intoxicated after a property damage accident involving one vehicle.

Deputies say the accident happened on Dryer Road in the Town of Victor. They responded to the scene and identified the driver, and upon further investigation it was determined that Whiting was intoxicated.

They say he lost control of his vehicle after allegedly swerving for a deer, which caused him to collide with a utility pole.

He was charged with driving while intoxicated, and driving with a BAC over 0.08 percent.

Whiting was issued traffic citations returnable to Victor Town Court.
