An Auburn man faces charges after allegedly driving under the influence while in possession of heroin and a hypodermic needle, the Auburn Police Department said on Tuesday.
Donald J. Gregory Jr., 50, 10 Chestnut St., Apt. Upper, was charged with first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, second-degree operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of drugs, seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and possession of a hypodermic instrument.
Deputy Chief Roger Anthony said Gregory was stopped by officers at 8:44 p.m. Tuesday on Franklin Street for speeding. Anthony said that one of the officers, a certified drug recognition expert, determined Gregory was “under the influence of something.” Gregory was given standard sobriety tests.
