What started as a one-night change to remember a Rochester culinary classic has now morphed into a weekly celebration of what makes the city weird and wonderful.
The Rochester Red Wings morphed into the Rochester Plates for one night in August 2017 to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Nick Tahou’s Garbage Plate.
In 2018, the Rochester Plates became a weekly occurrence. Every Thursday home game, the team assumed the Plates moniker. And now in 2019, the Plates will have their own mascot.
