The former democratic candidate who took on Rep. John Katko last year in the 24th district made the announcement Tuesday night at the PressRoom Pub in Syracuse. In a Facebook post teasing the announcement, she said, “We’ll celebrate the extraordinary progress we’ve made while we prepare our next steps in the fight for opportunity for all.”
I’m running for Congress to finish what we started. Katko & Trump believe in a system that benefits the powerful few. I stand with you & demand a world where everyday Americans get a fair shot. It’s time to break the stranglehold of entrenched power that puts profits over people.

Roger Misso, a democrat, has already announced he’s running in 2020. Francis Conole, a democrat, has also announced his campaign to challenge Congressman Katko.
In 2018, Balter ran a tight race against Katko.
