Wood Library and the city of Canandaigua’s Climate Smart Canandaigua will host Earthapalooza on Earth Day, Monday at Wood Library.
The free, all-ages event is designed to raise awareness of environmental issues and educate the community on actions they can take to help reverse climate change, with a focus on waste management and food waste diversion.
“From recycling to composting to a bicycle fix-it clinic, Earthapalooza offers people of all ages the opportunity to learn more about environmental issues and bring environmentally sustainable practices into their lives,” said Suzette van der Sterre, who chairs Climate Smart Canandaigua.
Wood Library is committed to environmental stewardship and sustainability, said Wood Library Executive Director Jenny Goodemote.
“We are pleased to partner with Climate Smart Canandaigua and other organizations to draw attention to the many ways individuals and businesses can act to reverse global warming, reduce waste, and adopt lake-friendly practices,” Goodemote said. “We are proud to co-sponsor Earthapalooza on Earth Day.”
