As Lake Ontario Water levels continue to rise, neighbors fearful of more flooding

Every time Gayle Wang looks outside, she sees a daily reminder of what once was.

“This was all grass here. It was beautiful," she said pointing to her lawn. "Now it’s all destroyed.”

Wang has called Edgemere Drive in Greece her home for more than 30 years.

“I love the lake," she said. "I’m a lake person. I’ve always been a lake person.”

But two years ago, historic flooding along Lake Ontario heavily damaged her property.

“The storm, when it came, everything from the lake came upon my land," she said. "It was like the house was shaking and all the wood was banging against the sea wall.”

By now, most of her neighbors have received their check from a flooding relief fund to help pay for repairs. Wang said she's still waiting for hers.
