Mum was the word for a convict who had previously mouthed off to a judge prior to sentencing.
Convicted Farmington tool thief Theodore “Ted” O’Connor, 38, was sentenced to three and a half to seven years for two counts of second-degree burglary. O’Connor will serve an additional 30 days for mouthing off to Judge Kocher last November.
“It’s perfectly within your right not to speak during sentencing,” said Ontario County Court Judge Kitty Karle. “It’s disappointing that you didn’t apologize for your actions. Take the time to reflect on this so that you are not back before this court.”
O’Connor stole tools and other property from a site on State Route 21 in Canandaigua and another property on Seneca Point Road in South Bristol.
“This was a negotiated disposition that I think is a favorable under these circumstances,” said Ontario County First Assistant Conflict Defender Carrie Bleakley.
