The annual Ontario County auction of tax-foreclosed properties concluded Wednesday with 22 properties sold — including one batch of 37 lots in Farmington selling for one bid price.
“Hope you did your homework,” said the auctioneer with Auctions International Inc. before he started the bidding for the vacant residential lots that are all part of Creek View Trail in Farmington. “There’s a lot of paperwork we will have to do,” he added.
The 37 lots, individually assessed at $100 each, sold as one bid for $35,000. The winning bidder will pay the county $35,110, which includes the taxes due.
Approached after the auction, the man who won the bid declined to comment about his plans for Creek View Trail. The lots are each 21 by 55 feet and clustered around the end of a partially-developed cul-de-sac.
